Product Manager, Checkout

Klarna is looking for an entrepreneurial Product Manager to drive conceptual and technical development of Klarna’s flagship product, Klarna Checkout.

Klarna Checkout is an easy to use e-commerce checkout solution that aims to completely remove all friction involved in making a purchase online. We’ve just started in the Nordic markets and are expanding the product to new markets and verticals. To enable this experience we are developing a distributed purchasing platform, a front-end server and a client based on JavaScript.

The Product Manager, Checkout works closely with a team of talented engineers and product designers while working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to define a long-term strategy. This is a senior role that will have significant influence on the roadmap for all of Klarna’s purchase-related product offerings.

Responsibilities

Write requirements and high level specifications for new products using Klarna’s product discovery process
Localize Klarna Checkout to new markets working together with local Product Managers
Negotiate and prioritize features with key stakeholders, while using data to align strategic goals and available opportunities with senior management
Be part of the sales process with strategic merchants, ensuring the product offered matches the long term vision of Klarna’s product portfolio
Work closely with engineers to write user stories and prioritize features. The Product Manager, Checkout will own part of their backlog through Agile methods.

Minimum Qualifications

MBA or BS degree in computer science
5+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the e-commerce or payments industry
Track record of working closely with developers to build consumer facing products
Knowledge of a programming or scripting language
Exceptional skills in written and oral communication
Comfortable gathering requirements and prioritizing backlogs
Data analytics experience
Background in creating user interfaces through wireframes and mockups.
Familiar with Adobe products, HTML, CSS and major web standards

Product Communication Manager

Klarna is looking for a highly skilled Product Communication Manager to drive Klarna’s product communication strategy inside Klarna and externally to the market.

Klarna is a global, profitable, fast growing payments company with a flagship product of an easy to use e-commerce checkout solution that aims to completely remove all friction involved in making a purchase online. On top of that our products are designed to optimize the end to end experience of all the parties involved – end-consumers, merchants and internal operations. The communication strategy would cover all of our products across all of our stakeholders internally and externally.

The Product Communication Manager works closely with a team of talented Product Managers while working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to define a short term and long-term strategy for communication. This role that will have significant influence on Klarna’s ability to move forward quickly through effective communication.

Responsibilities

Define internal/external communication strategy for dealing with weekly software releases
Define internal/external communication strategy for explaining processes and ways of working
Define internal/external communication strategy for communication around “critical and sensitive” issues
Generate content for intranet/external to Klarna explaining to the entire company what is being released, going on, or important from Klarna’s Product team
Write content around the Product group as a whole, highlighting members, ways of working, etc. for an external audience via blog/s and other channels
Build a communication strategy for communicating product changes to merchants and end consumers via product blog/s and other channels
Help to formulate best practices for inter-product team communication
Cater messages across target audiences, markets, and languages for product changes and releases

Minimum Qualifications

* BS Degree in Communication, Computer Science or equivalent
* 5+ years of Communication or other relevant experience
* Very good understanding of writing for a technical and nontechnical audience
* Familiarity with the tech community and industry trends
* Excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to proofread documents for style, content, and grammar.

Preferred Qualifications

* Track record of producing clear and effective written communication
* Experience working in urgent “mission critical” environments
* Comfortable gathering information from multiple stakeholders and asking questions to reach clarification
* Experience with tools needed for communication such as wordpress, tumblr, twitter

On top of that our products are designed to optimize the end to end experience of all the parties involved – end-consumers, merchants and internal operations. The data infrastructure – including both transactions and operational data – has a crucial part in enabling that.

The Product Manager, Data Infrastructure, works closely with a team of talented engineers while working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to define a long-term strategy. This is a senior role that will have significant influence on Klarna’s ability to scale, build new products and improve existing ones.

* Build a roadmap for Klarna’s data infrastructure to ensure optimized data delivery for any downstream purposes
*  Write requirements and high level specifications for data architecture, processes and modeling using Klarna’s product discovery process
*  Make sure the proposed solutions technologies and tools are the best fit to current and future business needs
* Negotiate and prioritize features with key stakeholders, while using data to align strategic goals and available opportunities with senior management
* Work closely with engineers to write user stories and prioritize features. The Product Manager, Data Infrastructure will own part of their backlog through Agile methods.

Minimum Qualifications

* BS or MS Degree in Computer science or equivalent
* 2+ years of DBA/DWH or other relevant experience
* Experience as a product manager or a business analyst
* Very good understanding of relational and dimensional database concepts, and database architecture and design, including data warehouse approaches, industry standards and best practices
* Familiarity with the latest technology trends in the Big data, Data warehousing and analytics domains

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in e-commerce, payments or financial services industries
* Track record of mapping processes and use cases to derive technical requirements
* Experience with production and 24/7 systems
* Experience in application design and development in a distributed environment
* Exceptional skills in written and oral communication
* Comfortable gathering requirements and prioritizing backlogs
